SPOTLIGHT

Neighbors Helping Neighbors on the Main Line would like to highlight the phenomenal efforts happening in our community!

NHN is Grateful for our Friends at Ardmore Rotary!

The Rotary Club of Ardmore is proud to support  Neighbors Helping Neighbors on the Main Line in their efforts to make sure that the most vulnerable among us are cared for during the pandemic.  The Rotary District 7450 had a disruption in plans for funds because of the pandemic and decided to give each of the 51 clubs in the area $500. to disburse to the most underserved and at risk in their area in the midst of The Covid pandemic. The individual clubs are challenged to match the $500. Rotary district 7450 covers the greater Delaware Valley.

Ardmore Rotary has been serving the Main Line since 1925. We are a local group of the 1.2 million Rotarians around the world made up of business and community leaders committed to Service Above Self. We are always looking for more compassionate community members to help us on our quest of improving local and global communities. More information can be found at:  ArdmoreRotary.org

We chose  Neighbors Helping Neighbors on the Main Line since we already had a relationship focusing on these families in need.  NHN on the Main Line is a nonprofit organization that serves as a continual source of support to some of the most vulnerable residents in Lower Merion Township. NHN is made up of local volunteers, who are dedicated to creating racial equity and unity.

NHN on the Main Line relies on food donations from local pantries and the Caring for Friends Distribution Center, when available. The Rotary donation will provide much needed supplemental food such as meats and bread, especially when the supplies from others are limited. It will also help to provide important shelf stable items as we prepare for an unpredictable winter. Through the Neighbors Helping Neighbors contactless, door-to-door delivery system and generous donations such as these, NHN hopes to bring added stability to our neighbors during this critical period.

CHA CHA for CHANGE!

Looking for a fun-filled and motivating workout? Join Gail Lazarus of live.love.lablast to Cha Cha for Change! Enjoy the fresh air and a guided, socially-distanced exercise through dance at Linwood Park in Ardmore! All classes are based on free will donations with proceeds going to Neighbors Helping Neighbors on the Main Line, funneling right back to boost our community! Dancing for a cause!

Neighbors Helping Neighbors on the Main Line would like to take the opportunity to thank Hummingbird Yoga Studio! Our wonderful donors guided the students at the AACC and NHN Virtual Learning Center through socially-distanced yoga and mindfulness classes. What an important and beautiful outlet for our students! We are grateful for your continued support and for bringing more light into our organization!

Kudos to the LMSD students who organized Together We Rise!  The crafts and baked goods sale at Linwood Park Saturday, August 22nd, was a HUGE success! The students raised over $2,500! Proceeds went to the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Educational initiatives, Excelling in Education: E Squared, and the AACC and NHN Virtual Learning Center. These awesome students made an impactful difference, both locally and globally. NHN is so grateful; we could not be more proud!

Another awesome student event! On Sunday, August 30th at 1pm, our community marched to Tustin Playground. They crossed the city line to break down barriers! Our team was happy to get involved, handing out refreshments! Shout out to our LMSD students and those who spoke at the march. What a special day!
